Shop handmade. I Heart Handmade 2024 is set to take place at the Kauffman Community Center in Chambersburg on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This unique craft show features a diverse array of handmade products crafted by local artisans, providing a perfect opportunity for attendees to discover one-of-a-kind items while supporting the community.

Enjoy a Bonfire. Join the Conococheague Institute on Saturday, Nov. 9, for the 30th Anniversary Bonfire Night, a vibrant community celebration from noon to 8 p.m. This free event will delve into the historical significance of Guy Fawkes Night, featuring engaging activities such as tavern songs and dances, archery and wildlife presentations. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food trucks and craft vendors while children are entertained with a special performance by Ray Owens. The festivities will culminate in a spectacular bonfire program at 7 p.m. making it a perfect day for families and history enthusiasts alike to celebrate and learn together.

Go on a Story Walk. Visit Buttonwood Nature Center on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. for a delightful StoryWalk® event featuring the charming book “Bear Says Thanks” by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman. This engaging experience invites children to embark on a guided walk along the story trail at Pine Hill Park, where they will read about Bear’s heartfelt attempt to celebrate friendship and gratitude through a feast for his woodland friends. After the reading, participants will create a special craft to take home, making this event not only a celebration of storytelling but also a creative opportunity. Best of all, this event is FREE, perfect for families looking to enjoy a day of fun and learning together as they embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving.

Get Artsy. Holiday Themed Youth Paint Night will take place on Friday, Nov. 8, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the HCC ARCC (Gym) located at 11400 Robinwood Dr., Hagerstown. This fun-filled event, designed for children ages 5-12, allows young artists to choose between two festive paintings to create. All supplies are provided, and the cost is just $10 per ticket.
