Mrs. Anna M. (Black) Shank, 92, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Waynesboro Hospital.

Born January 31, 1932 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Hall) Black.

Mrs. Shank was a graduate of Quincy High School.

She and her husband, the late John H. Shank, were married April 14, 1951. They were together for over 59 years when he passed away January 8, 2011. Mrs. Shank had made her home on Mason Dixon Road, Hagerstown, MD for over 60 years. She entered Quincy Village Nursing Home in January 2024.

Mrs. Shank was a homemaker and member of Grace Bible Church in Greencastle, PA. She enjoyed cooking for her family and going on the “girls” trips with those she loved.

She is survived by her five children: John W. Shank (Deborah) of Anderson, SC, Richard E. Shank (Diane) of Sanford, FL, James A. Shank (Cindy) of Quincy, PA, Lisa M. Leabhart of Hagerstown and Larry E. Shank (Kelly) of Quincy; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister, Betty Harbaugh of State Line, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Shank; 2 grandsons, Joseph Shank and Turner Leabhart; and 3 brothers, George Black, Paul Black & Robert Black.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 23, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. Waynesboro, PA, with Pastor Nathan Hykes officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Monday morning, in the funeral home.
