Mrs. Beverly J. (Murray) Stickel, 84, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Carlisle Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Carlisle, PA.
Born July 11, 1941, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary “Leona” (Davis) Murray.
She graduated from Quincy High School with the class of 1959.
She and her husband, Ross F. Stickel were married July 7, 1963, in Hagerstown, MD. Ross passed away June 20, 2021, after 57 years of marriage.
She was employed as a seamstress for the Stanley Co., Chambersburg, PA.
Beverly was a fiercely determined soul, unwavering in her opinions. She grew up working hard on the family farm milking cows by hand. After the death of her twin sister in 2014, Beverly became more private and kept to herself most of the time. While her husband was living, she enjoyed going out to eat with him. She also loved watching game shows.
She is survived by two brothers: Charles W. Murray, Jr. and his wife, Shirley of Chambersburg and Donald L. Murray and his wife, Teresa of Waynesboro; a cousin/brother: David Davis and his wife Lisa of Chambersburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Catherine Wenger and her twin sister, Barbara Sword.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. Greencastle, PA, with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
