Brian E. “Jake” Jacobs, 54, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at UPMC Harrisburg, due to a massive stroke.
Born March 29, 1970 in Wheeling, WV, he was the son of Jerry and Priscilla (Williams) Jacobs of Wheeling.
He was a graduate of Linsly School in Wheeling with the Class of 1988. He then went on to attend Dayton University before graduating from West Virginia University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology.
He and his wife of 28 years, Debbie S. (Stum) Jacobs, were married September 28, 1996 in Waynesboro.
Jake worked for his brothers-in-law, Brian Stum and Dwayne Buhrman of B & D Lawn and Landscape, Inc. for 30 years. He was talented in creating hardscapes that have come to bring numerous local households pleasurable use of their outdoor spaces.
He was a member of Church of the Apostles U.C.C., Waynesboro and attended services at Otterbein Church, Waynesboro; and was a member of Waynesboro Youth Soccer Association.
Jake enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved watching his sons in all their sporting events. They were his pride and joy. Jake coached both boys in youth soccer, basketball and baseball. He loved playing golf and enjoyed golf trips to Myrtle Beach which were even more special when Connor and Eric could join him. He spent countless volunteer hours mowing and painting the soccer fields for Waynesboro Youth Soccer Association. He took great pride in making sure they were in top-notch condition.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jake is survived by two sons, Connor R. Jacobs and Eric J. Jacobs, both of Waynesboro; one brother, Jeff Jacobs of Columbus, OH; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 23, 2025 in Otterbein Church, 912 S. Potomac Street, Waynesboro with Pastor Mike Newman officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Saturday, March 22, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro and one hour prior to the service, Sunday afternoon, in the church.
