Carol McColligan,71, of Shippensburg passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on March 22, 1954, in Fort Meade, Maryland, the daughter of the late Dorothy and Charles Sowers. A 1972 graduate of Aberdeen High School, she eventually met, fell in love with and married Paul D. McColligan. Carol was a housewife and devoted herself to her children and her grandchildren when she could. She has had many hobbies over the years; her longest running hobby was her kids. She loved playing hidden object games on her computer and board games with her children, times which were always filled with laughter and happy fun-loving tears. She also loved playing Bingo, going to concerts, her knicknacks and art that she got from different places in the world and she liked sewing, watching movies and westerns. Carol believed in God and lived her life according to her beliefs. Carol is survived by her husband, Paul D. McColligan; her sons, Frank and David, daughter Sara; sisters: Donna, Vera and Patsy; brother, Richard; grandsons: Kyle, Ethan, Cameron and Dustin and granddaughters, Alexandra and Mercedes. In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her brothers, Louis, Vernon and Robert and her sister Linda. Services will be Private.
