Mr. Charles R. Dinish, a.k.a “Laughing Charlie”, “Crazy Charlie” and “Lollipop Man”, 85, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away surrounded by family Saturday, February 1, 2025 in his daughter’s home in Waynesboro, PA.
Born July 21, 1939 in Foley, Alabama, he was the son of the late Waymon William Dinish and Georgie Ana (Prim) Dinish. Mr. Dinish attended Baldwin Technical School in Daphine, AL.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft Manufacturing, Hagerstown and Essis and Sons in Chambersburg. He also was known as “Jack of All Trades” throughout the Chambersburg Community, able to do any task that was asked of him.
Mr. Dinish was an avid pool and BINGO player. He was also quite the jokester. Those who were lucky enough to know him, loved him!
Mr. Dinish leaves behind four children, Angela Dinish (Rocky Lindsay) of Waynesboro, Charles Dinish of Shippensburg, PA, Joe Dominick of Chambersburg, PA, Deloris Calmicker of Bronx, NY; seven grandchildren to include Rana Rand, Dakari Dinish, Drayden Dinish and Marques Dominick; one great-grandson, Ra’Dayis Rand; two siblings, Alfredia Dinish of Foley, AL and Annie Mae Miller of Summerdale, AL; and a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles Calmicker; and two siblings, Janie Mae Holmes and Lenzie Dinish.
A Celebration of Charles’ Life will be held from 12 Noon to 5:00 P.M., Saturday, February 22, 2025 in Franklin Fire-Bingo Hall, 158 W. King Street, Chambersburg.
