Mrs. Charlotte M. (Mentzer) Cordell, 92, of Parkville, MD, passed away Saturday morning, January 11, 2025, in Franklin Square Hospital, Baltimore, MD.

Born November 22, 1932 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Nettie P. (Burns) Mentzer. She lived her early life in the Waynesboro area.

Mrs. Cordell was a graduate of Washington Township High School, Waynesboro.

She and her husband the late Richard E. Cordell, were married on August 4, 1951 in Blue Rock United Brethren Church, Waynesboro. Mr. Cordell died on July 7, 2017.

Mrs. Cordell worked for Bell Atlantic in Baltimore. She retired after more than 25 years of service.

She was a member of Linden Heights United Methodist Church, Parkville, MD and enjoyed ice skating, playing golf, playing the piano and spending time with her family, especially her great-granddaughter.

She is survived by three sons, Andrew Cordell of Bel Air, MD, Robert Cordell of Reisterstown, MD, and Timothy Cordell of Middle River, MD; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Woodring of Chambersburg, PA; and several extended family members.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 16, 2025, in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Harbaugh Church Road, Rouzerville, PA. There will be no public viewing.
