Mr. Cyrus I. “Teddy” Blubaugh, 93, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Chambersburg Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
Born September 13, 1931 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Irvin and Almeda (Moats) Blubaugh. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
Mr. Blubaugh served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars for his service.
He and his wife, the late Marlene J. (Ross) Blubaugh, were married on October 3, 1953. Mrs. Blubaugh died on January 10, 2025.
In his early life, Mr. Blubaugh worked for Miller’s Furniture, Waynesboro. He later worked for over 20 years at Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, PA.
He was a member of the Owl’s Club and Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, both of Waynesboro.
Mr. Blubaugh was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. He was an excellent player in his older youth and attended the Brooklyn Dodgers tryout camp.
He is survived by one son, Bradley A. Blubaugh of Sewell, NJ; three grandchildren, Brandon Sites, Ashley Carola (Kyle) and Shawn Blubaugh (Kerri); one great-granddaughter, Lucy Carola; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was the last of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheri A. Brunk; one brother, Harold “Oakus” Blubaugh; and two sisters, Rebecca Jane French and Naomi “Sissy” Sanders.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 7, 2025, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Greg Helman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, PA.
A public viewing for family and friends will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Monday afternoon, in the funeral home.
