Mrs. D. Jean (Robinson) Wishard, 94, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Mercy House, Chambersburg, PA.
Born January 13, 1931 in The Gap area of Quincy Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Gladys (Mentzer) Robinson.
Mrs. Wishard was a graduate of Washington Township High School with the Class of 1949.
In her younger years, Mrs. Wishard worked at May’s Tea Room on the corner of Main and North Grant Street. Following her graduation, she moved to Atlantic City where she waitressed for several years. After to returning to Waynesboro, she was employed at the John Wallace Kitchen and the Camelot Room, later owning and operating the Village Book and Table Restaurant in Fairfield for many years. While living in Florida, she owned and operated Imagination Lighting and after returning to the area, she worked for Bow Lighting in Hagerstown. She later managed the bakery at Ski Liberty for over ten years. In recent years, she worked alongside her son at the Velvet Café.
She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro. A devoted grandmother, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wishard also loved to play BINGO.
She is survived by four sons, Dennis R. Wishard (Kathy), David I. Wishard, and Dwaine E. Wishard (Emily) all of Waynesboro and Darryl R. Wishard (Tiffany) of Vienna, VA; ten grandchildren; 12 great -grandchildren; one brother, James Robinson of Ephrata, PA; a number of nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 6, 2025 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
