Mr. Darrel L. Potts, 79, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away in his home Friday, January 16, 2026.
Born January 22, 1946 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Stella V. (Kisecker) Potts.
Mr. Potts graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the class of 1964.
He served his country honorably in the PA National Guard.
He and his wife of over 58 years, Linda M. (Statler) Potts, were married April 15, 1967 in Otterbein Church, Waynesboro.
Mr. Potts was employed with Waynesboro Phone Company, known today as Century Link for over 30 years. He formally retired August 1, 2012.
He was a member of Antrim Faith Baptist Church, Waynesboro and the National Rifle Association. He served on Waynesboro Borough council for 20 years, two of which he served as Vice President. He enjoyed trips to the beach, looking for deer in the yard, spending time with his family, watching his grandson play baseball, and babysitting his great-grandson.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his two daughters, D’Lynn L. Scheeler (Monte) and Angela L. Potts (Jason), both of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his siblings, Estella Kadel of Chambersburg, Carolyn “Suzi” Starliper of Falling Waters, WV, and Bradley Potts of Chambersburg; as well as an extended host of family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles “Red” Potts, and Robert “Bob” Potts.
Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 23, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Herb Busick officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, 953 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service Friday afternoon in the funeral home.
