David Michael “Dave” Easton, 55, of Waynesboro, PA, departed this earth peacefully on April 14, 2025 after a long and arduous battle with liver cancer.
Born October 28, 1969 in Willimantic, CT, he was the son of Richard Golab of CT and the late Joyce Taylor Easton.
In April 1999, he married Kris Marie Chase, who has remained his loving wife and best friend for 26 years. Dave worked for many years in the construction trade, taking pride in his craft and his honesty. He had a passion for cooking, enjoyed spending time with his “daughter” Maryellen and his granddaughters, Chloe and Lily. He loved his dogs, going on cruises with his wife and in-laws, Floyd & Holly Chase, and playing pool. Dave was a loyal listener of 101.5 FM Bob Rocks, a relationship that was often like a second family and where he got the moniker, “Grumpy Bob”.
Dave is survived by his wife, Kris; brothers, Keith Rambus and Kenny Easton; niece Ashley Easton as well as his daughters, Maryellen and Jean Pullman; grandchildren, Chloe Halle, Lilyann Wagerman and Kieran Melinchenko; mother-in-law, Jean Dempsey and her husband, Stuart Dempsey; father-in-law, Floyd Chase, Jr. and Holly Winters Chase; sister-in-law, Roxanne Ward and her husband, Paul Ward; brother-in-law, David Chase; nephews, Harrison and Benjamin Chase as well as many friends and his dogs, Matimus and Chunk.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Taylor Easton and her partner, Joseph Baran; and his brother, Louie.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Corner Pavilion, Carroll Valley Commons, 5685 Fairfield Road Fairfield, PA 17320 (at the Borough office), where light refreshments will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro to defray funeral expenses.
