Rev. Dennis D. Chisholm "Pastor C", 83 of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family and close friends. Dennis Chisholm was born November 5, 1940, in Daytona Beach, Florida, the son of the late, Donald Ralph and Doris (Taylor) Chisholm. He had a twin brother, Danny, who was also his best friend for life. They made life interesting and fun for both family and friends. Dennis accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and accepted God’s calling into the ministry. He graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a B.S. in Bible and Theology in 1969. He then completed his Masters and doctorate degree in theology at Southwest Bible College and Seminary in 1998. He pastored his first church in Lebanon, Indiana for two years. He then moved to Chambersburg Pennsylvania and was the pastor of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church for 43 years. His twin brother Danny was also a pastor, and they both had combined over 75 years of service with the Christian Missionary Alliance. After retirement, he spent a couple hours daily with a phone ministery, talking and having prayer with church family and friends. He was an avid reader and writer and spent much of his spare time doing these activities. He also kept a detailed daily diary of key news stories, daily weather conditions, and personal activities, dating back to 1965. He also enjoyed following NASCAR, Baseball, and College and Pro Football. He was a automobile enthusiast and enjoyed going to car shows each year reading car magazines and reviewing car information on his iPad. September 7, 1965, Dennis married the love of his life, Martha (Sproule) Chisholm. Dennis is survived by his wife of 59 years, their children Daniel and Connie Chisholm, Christopher Chisholm, Matthew Chisholm, and Karri Chisholm, Grandchildren Corey Chisholm, Jacob Chisholm, Hailey Chisholm, and Nathaniel Chisholm. In addition to his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by a sister, Diane D. Richards, and twin brother, Daniel H. Chisholm. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Chambersburg, 230 Siloam Rd, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Pastor Jeff McCracken officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
