Mr. Dennis E. Gates, 49, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in his home.
Born April 24, 1975 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Gary Lee and Ada B. (McCleary) Gates.
He and his wife of 18 years, Heather L. (Wenger) Gates, were on married June 3, 2006.
Since 1998 Dennis has been employed by Sesco Corp. in Mont Alto, PA.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood and riding 4-wheeler with his son. He also enjoyed antique cars and dirt track racing.
In addition to his wife, Dennis is survived by son, Wyatt E. Gates, at home; his brother, Stephen L. Gates and his wife, Wendy of Fairfield; two nephews; and four nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Amy Sue Gates who passed away in 1978.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 19, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Mr. Terry Ulrich officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Quincy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday evening, in the funeral home.
