Mr. Dennis Eugene Wetzel, Sr., 76, of Rouzerville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Mercy House, Chambersburg.

Born May 27, 1948, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Kenneth Wetzel and Iva E. (Martin) Burger.

Dennis most recently was employed as a warehouse worker at a distribution center.

He married Regina Louise (McClain) Wetzel on July 6, 1987, in Hagerstown, MD. They enjoyed 30 years together when Regina passed away January 18, 2018.

He was a member of Germantown Church of God, Cascade, MD, and a former member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, where he was a very active member, teaching Sunday school and singing on the choir.

He played softball, baseball and was a Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was a handyman around his home, where he also enjoyed gardening. He will be remembered as lovingly ornery! He had a heart of gold, and he deeply loved his family, and they loved him! He will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.

He is survived by Tina Lenig and her husband Bill of Aspers, PA, Amy Garrison and her companion, John of Valrico, FL, LouAnn Dick and her husband, Sam of Waynesboro, Sharon Caudle and her husband, Mark of Waynesboro, Brian Swisher and his wife, Kristy of Littleton, CO, Tracie Flood and her husband, Keith of Fairfield, PA, Mary Chidboy and her husband, Todd of South Mountain, PA, and Rick Swisher and his wife, Dawn of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis E. Wetzel, Jr., a grandson, Craig Talhelm and two sisters: Joyce Wolfe, Connie Lou Barr.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in Germantown Church of God, 16924 Raven Rock Rd. Cascade, MD, with Pastor Linda Rosenberry officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
