Mr. Donald E. Kriner, 83, of Laurel, DE, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at Tidal Health Nanticoke, Seaford, DE.

Born May 26, 1941, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late John H. and Edna Elizabeth (Bingaman) Kriner.

Don was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, class of 1960.

He married Jean K. (Middlekauff) Kriner on April 5, 1974, in Waynesboro. They made their home in Clay Hill and moved to Laurel, Delaware in 1998.

He worked for many years at Appalachian Nurseries in Waynesboro, and after moving to Delaware, worked at Lowes.

Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and traveling. In his later years he developed a love of reading and devoured many books on military history. Don was always able to find joy in what some would call the simple things, whether it be a flower in a garden or a bird on the feeder.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Beth Kriner and her husband Michael Thomas of Broomall, PA, granddaughters Maya and Lucy Thomas, and two sisters, Joan Carty (Donald) and Ann Sue Cunningham, both of Greencastle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law and “best bud”, Robert L. Cunningham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. Greencastle, PA, with Rev. David Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Beautiful View Cemetery, State Line.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 27th in the funeral home and again one hour prior to the service on Friday.
