Donald P. Snyder, 65, of Greencastle, PA, left us on his own terms on July 9, 2025, passing away at his home.

Born October 22, 1959, in Gettysburg, PA, to the late Herman David Snyder and Betty Ann (Hardman) Snyder, Don was a force of nature—gritty, stubborn, and always straight-up.

After attending South Carroll High School, Sykesville, MD. Donald’s entrepreneurial fire led him to continue Snyder’s Amusements, a family business he built with grit and heart.

He was a proud member of the International Independent Showmen’s Association, PA Showman’s Association, and MD Showman’s Association, and served as a PA Dept. of Agriculture State Inspector for Amusement Rides.

Donald enjoyed NASCAR and Sprint Car races, hitting local tracks and making annual pilgrimages to Daytona. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidsons (owning two), especially on his trips to Florida. Donald was funny, ornery, and never shy about speaking his mind. He took immense pride in maintaining the rides in perfect condition, meticulously tinkering, welding, and painting to ensure they were always in top-notch shape.

He leaves behind his daughters, Brandi M. Snyder and Brittnay L. Snyder, both of Greencastle; granddaughters, Avery and Addie Brotzman; sister, Candace Jean Snyder of Falling Waters, WV; the mother of his children, Tammala Snyder; and beloved girlfriend, Beth Bates; and his loyal friend and employee, Tony Sowers and his grand-fur-babies, Maggie and Tater.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brother, David Lee Snyder, in 2020.

A celebration of Donald’s life will be announced later. Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling arrangements. Share condolences at www.bowersoxfuneralhomes.com.
