Mrs. Ethel “Louise” (Stahley) Woodring, 83, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in her home.

Born April 1, 1941 in Fairfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Roy G. and Laura E. (Brooks) Stahley. She grew up on a farm in Blue Ridge Summit, off Stahley Road which was named after her family.

Mrs. Woodring served as a caregiver to the elderly for many years. She enjoyed sports of all kinds but especially loved to watch football. Her favorite teams included the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State.

Louise always made everyone around her laugh with her quick wit and great sense of humor. She was loved by anyone that met her.

She leaves behind one son, Theodore “Butch” Woodring (Chris Herman) of Selinsgrove, PA; granddaughters, Cassidy L. Davis (David) of McConnellsburg and Renee Woodring of Waynesboro; step-granddaughter, Mandy Hann of Waynesboro; three great-grandchildren, Ethan and Evan Gracey and Levi Michael; four step-great-granddaughters, Whitney, Alyssa, Morgan and Kelsey; two sisters, Guyda Shank of Carlisle, PA and Jennabell Haines of Littlestown, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by daughter, Tina L. Woodring who passed away August 19, 2022; her beloved companion of over 20 years, Larry D. “Butch” Ritchey; three sisters, Barbara Jordan, Betty Smith and Ann Spertzel; and four brothers, Leroy Stahley, Wayne Stahley, Fred Stahley and Steve Stahley.

A service to honor Louise’s life will be held at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 4, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with the Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday evening, in the funeral home.
