Mrs. Faye Elizabeth (Hearn) Ankerbrand (Henry), 78, of Greencastle, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 28, 2024, when she passed away at Quincy Village Nursing Home, Waynesboro, PA.

Born July 10, 1946, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Fannie Romaine (Wisler) Hearn.

She married Joseph “Woody” Woodrow Ankerbrand on January 9, 1965, in Waynesboro, PA. Woody passed away March 27, 1997.

Faye was employed as a nursing assistant for Quincy Village, Waynesboro and later for Western Maryland Center, Hagerstown, MD. After retiring she worked part time at Trickling Springs Creamery, Chambersburg.

She was a member of Welsh Run Church, Mercersburg, PA. She was a volunteer with Camp Joy El, where everyone called her grandma! She also volunteered with various sports, band and color guard activities in the local and surrounding communities, doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work, preparing food, helping with banquets and working concession stands. Faye kept her mind active. She was always working on a jigsaw puzzle and was a talented seamstress who made all of her own clothes, her daughter’s wedding gown and many bridal attendants attire as well. She was a dedicated, hard-working, feisty, sometimes stubborn lady, who didn’t like to lose. She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her three children: Robert Ankerbrand and his wife Deb of Mercersburg, Caroline Martin and her husband Clarence of Chambersburg and David Ankerbrand and his wife, Miriam of Greencastle; five grandchildren: Nicole Robinson, Courtney Chapelle, Cheryl Aguilar, Cory Martin, Katie Ankerbrand; five great grandchildren: Carter Robinson, Kamden Robinson, Cornelius Chapelle, Santiago Aguilar and Emery Robinson; her siblings: Fred Hearn and his wife Rose of Myerstown, PA, Mable Degler and her husband, Paul of Sinking Springs, PA and Wilma Keeney and her husband, Harold of Myerstown, PA and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, her siblings Robert Hearn and Wanda Noecker.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Welsh Run Church of the Brethren, 11420 Welsh Run Mercersburg, PA, with Pastor Nathan West and Pastor Ocoee Chapelle officiating. A private burial will follow in Welsh Run Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. the evening of Friday, December 6th at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. Greencastle, PA.
