Mr. Fred L. Eisenhart, 85, of Waynesboro, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 4, 2025, surrounded by his family, in his home.

Born April 5, 1939 in York, PA, he was the son of the late Stewart L. and Myrtle S. (Bowman) Eisenhart.

Mr. Eisenhart was a graduate of West York High School with the Class of 1957 and later Park College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Management.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War retiring as Chief Master Sergeant after 24 years of service.

Following his military retirement, Mr. Eisenhart spent 13 years as Director of Support Services at Waynesboro Hospital.

Mr. Eisenhart was an active member of both St. Andrew Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #2068. He also was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, Docent at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Shrine in Emmitsburg, MD, Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America when his son was young and was a religious education teacher. He also served on the Board of Directors and was former President of both Waynesboro Area Human Services and Washington Township Municipal Authority.

He had many hobbies he enjoyed in life, such as playing golf, woodworking, project management, going to baseball games, playing softball, the beach, and traveling the world with his wife. But what he cherished most in life was his faith, service to community and country, his loving family, and above all else, the love of his life and best friend, his wife Liz.

Mr. Eisenhart is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann (Roth) Eisenhart who he married June 27, 1959; four children, Fred L. Eisenhart, Jr. (Margaret) of Walkersville, MD, Patricia A. Grimes (Mark, Jr.) of Waynesboro, Carol M. Kimball (Ronald) of Jefferson City, MO and Angela S. Singer (Mark) of Greencastle, PA; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcia Grim of Delaware; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tamara Eisenhart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 11, 2025 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro with Fr. Augusty Valomchalil, MSSCC officiating. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery, Waynesboro where military graveside honors will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post #1599, Chambersburg, PA.

The family will receive friends following the service at Knights of Columbus, 42 W. 2nd St., Waynesboro.
