Mrs. Geneva (Miller) Orner, 87, a resident of Genesis HealthCare, Gettysburg, PA and formerly of Waynesboro, PA passed away Sunday morning, March 16, 2025, in the nursing home.
Born April 7, 1937 in Westminster, MD, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Maude (Penley) Miller.
Mrs. Orner was a graduate of Thurmont High School.
She and her husband, the late Raymond J. Orner, Sr., were married on December 18, 1959. Mr. Orner died on July 22, 2023.
In her early life, Mrs. Orner worked at Gettysburg Shoe Factory and Freeman Shoe Factory, Waynesboro. However, she was a homemaker most of her life.
She was a member of Calvary Chapel, Beartown, PA and a former member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1191 and William Max McLaughlin V.F.W. Post #695, both of Waynesboro.
Mrs. Orner enjoyed animals, watching game shows and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Lisa Pryor (Steve Nichols), Connie Orner (Scott Stiles) and Mike Orner (Irene Gaffney) all of Waynesboro; 7 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Raymond J. “Luck” Orner, Jr.; and her siblings, Pearline Miller, Frank Miller and Burgess Miller.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 21, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Rev. Jody Barthle officiating. Burial will be private.
There will be no public viewing, however the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Friday morning, in the funeral home.
