Mr. Gregory E. “Greg” Wagaman, Sr., 60, of South Mountain, PA, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, December 21, 2024, in his home.

Born June 11, 1964, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Wayne and Herma (Barnes) Wagaman.

Greg graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1982.

He and his wife, Rebecca “Becky” (Daywalt) Wagaman, were married April 15, 1987.

Greg held various jobs in his younger life. He was employed at Frick Company in Waynesboro for 16 years. He later went to work at the Franklin County Maintenance Department.

Greg dedicated 25 years to coaching his “boys” in baseball in the Pen Mar Youth League and was even still actively coaching his grandson’s baseball team. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed taking his family on hunting and fishing trips. He and his grandson Dustin had many hunting stories to tell! He was an avid San Francisco 49er’s fan, loved his bluegrass music, and building various pieces and furniture from wood. He was known as the family “handyman” and his love knew no bounds, as he would do anything for anyone. He will be truly missed by all those he leaves behind.

In addition to his wife, Greg is survived by his three children, Gregory E. Wagaman Jr., Justin A. Wagaman, and Matthew L. Wagaman, all of South Mountain; two grandchildren, Dustin and Reed; two step grandchildren, Callie and Carson; a sister, Charlene Dupont of Waynesboro; a special sister-in-law, Amy Kauffman and her husband Scott of Fayetteville, PA; a special brother-in-law, Brad Daywalt and his wife Melissa of South Mountain; dedicated father-in-law, Timothy Daywalt; many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of extended baseball friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special mother-in-law, Shirley Daywalt.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 27, 2024, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Rev. Lee Daywalt officiating. Burial will follow in Strang’s Cemetery, South Mountain.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
