Mr. Harold E. Strite, 77, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 2, 2025 in his home.
Born November 6, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Elmer and Edna (Peck) Strite.
He and his wife of 57 years, Mrs. Eileen R. (Eby) Strite, were married October 21, 1967. They made their home in Hagerstown until moving to Waynesboro in 1975.
Harold began the family business, Strite’s Garage, Stottlemyer Road, Waynesboro, in 1975. He transferred ownership to his sons in 2005 but was still active in the daily operations. On January 1, 2025 they celebrated 50 years in business.
He was a member of Waynecastle Mennonite Church, Waynesboro.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Wanda K. Diller and her husband Lyle of Keymar, MD; Arvin J. Strite and his wife Sue Ellen of Clearville, PA; Arlin R. Strite and his wife Carol of McConnellsburg, PA; and Malinda J. Martin and her husband Elwood of Craig, CO; daughter-in-law, Jennifer D. Strite of Waynesboro; 30 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; one brother, David L. Strite of Clear Spring, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Randall E. Strite; great-granddaughter, Sierra F. Eby; brother, Elwood P. Strite; and sister, Lorraine F. (Strite) Eby.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 7, 2025 in the Waynecastle Mennonite Church, 10617 Five Forks Road, Waynesboro with the Waynecastle Church Ministry officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, March 6, 2025 in the church.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
