Mr. Harry C. Rock, 86, a resident of Heritage Hills Retirement Home, Greencastle, PA and formerly of Quincy, PA, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in the retirement home.

Born August 24, 1938 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Donald R. and Geneva L. (Kauffman) Rock. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro and Quincy areas.

Mr. Rock graduated from Waynesboro Senior High School with the Class of 1956.

He and his wife, the late Joan C. (Masters) Rock, were married on April 15, 1961 in Jacob’s United Church of Christ. Mrs. Rock died on March 31, 2008.

In his early life, Mr. Rock was a machinist at Frick Company, Waynesboro. From 1963 until his retirement in 1998, he worked at Mack Truck in Hagerstown, MD, first as a machinist and for the last 25 years, as an assembler.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Waynesboro and supported Macedonia Fellowship, Greencastle, PA. He was also a member of the Greencastle Sportsman’s Association and the Waynesboro Fish and Game.

Mr. Rock enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography.

He is survived by three daughters, Laura A. Betts (Joe) of Waynesboro, Deborah L. Black (Brian) of Greencastle, PA, and Brenda K. Huffman (Ray) of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Dylan Black (Steph) and Kelsie Jacobs (Kyle); six great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Peterson of Camp Hill, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Joann Carbaugh.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 21, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with his son-in-law, Pastor Brian Black officiating. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Monday afternoon, in the funeral home.
