Mrs. Irene D. (Reed) Kendall, 95, a resident of Quincy Village and formerly of Waynesboro, PA passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in the nursing home.
Born July 26, 1929 in Mont Alto, PA, she was the daughter of the late Melvin S. and Dorcas V. (Nunemaker) Reed.
Mrs. Kendall graduated from Quincy High School with the Class of 1947.
She and her husband, the late Henry O. Kendall, were married on July 3, 1948 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Kendall died on September 13, 2011.
Mrs. Kendall worked as a presser at Stanley Company, Chambersburg, PA. She retired in 1978.
She was a protestant by faith and was a member of the National AARP.
Mrs. Kendall enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos, working on puzzle books, watching football and watching the game show network.
She is survived by one daughter, Robin D. Kirby of South Mountain, PA; two sons, Melvin A. Kendall and Henry O. Kendall, Jr., both of Waynesboro; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy J. Fortney; five sisters, Charlotte Mong, Martha Carbaugh, Susan Mong, Gladys Staley and Pauline Ford; and three brothers, Levi Reed, Kenneth Reed and Edmund Reed.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in South Mountain Bible Church, 11275 S. Mountain Road, Fayetteville, PA with Pastor Colin Morley officiating. Burial will be held at 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA. The public is welcome to attend.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Wednesday morning, in the church
