Mr. James A. “Jim” Shank, 66, of Quincy, PA passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, April 3, 2025, in his home.
Born September 27, 1958 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late John H. and Anna M. (Black) Shank.
Jim was a graduate of North High in Hagerstown, MD with the Class of 1976.
He and his wife of over 34 years, Cynthia M. “Cindy” (Swisher) Shank, were married on June 16, 1990 in Grace Baptist Church, Waynesboro, by the late Pastor John F. Huff.
In his early life, Jim worked for Paul Diller doing farming. He later worked for Emmitsburg Glass and Engineered Construction Products in Frederick, MD. He retired in January 2024.
He attended services at Grace Bible Church, Greencastle, PA. Prior to 2008, he was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Waynesboro, where he served on the church board and helped in building the addition of the gym they added.
Jim enjoyed wood working and reading.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Brandon Shank (Erin), Naomi Shank (Andy Smith), Lydia Shank, Jacob Shank and Rebecca Lewis, all of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Eden, Paige, Landon, Oliver and Rowan; four siblings, John Shank of Andersen, SC, Rich Shank of Sanford, FL, Lisa Leabhart of Waynesboro and Larry Shank of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Shank.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Nathan Hykes officiating. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery, Quincy, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Wednesday morning, in the funeral home.
