Mrs. Jane A. (Monn) Shaffer, 100, of Mont Alto, PA passed away Friday morning, November 29, 2024, at Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Chambersburg, PA.

Born October 12, 1924 in Quincy Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Molly M. (Dull) Monn.

She and her husband, the late Wilson M. Shaffer, Sr., were married on July 18, 1942 in Leitersburg, MD. They made their home in Mont Alto in 1986. They were married 57 years before Mr. Shaffer died on December 29, 2000.

Mrs. Shaffer was employed as a seamstress with Carroll Shoe Company in Mont Alto for 30 years.

She attended Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro and she was a member of Mont Alto Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Shaffer enjoyed playing Bingo at the Fire Hall and at Waynesboro Fish and Game. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crocheting and embroidery in her early years. Above all, Jane loved her family and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son: Wilson Shaffer, Jr. and his wife, Pam of Palmyra, PA and a daughter, Brenda Myers and her husband Geary of Waynesboro, PA; five grandchildren: Jill Colbert, Lara Kerns, Crystal Knepper, Suzanne Byers and Jeffery Miner; nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Jane Miner who passed away in 1968; a brother, Woodrow Monn; and a sister, Tressie Green.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 5, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Bill Shank officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Thursday morning, in the funeral home.
