Mr. Jerry R. Kauffman, 88, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Wednesday morning, April 30, 2025, in the Waynesboro Hospital.

Born September 19, 1936 in Mont Alto, PA he was the son of the late Ennis “Bully” and Cora (Rock) Kauffman.

Mr. Kauffman was a graduate of the Quincy High School, Quincy, PA with the Class of 1954. While in school he played on both the baseball and basketball teams. After high school, Mr. Kauffman attended four years of Trade School at Landis Tool Company.

He and his wife of over 44 years, Linda (Kirkpatrick) Kauffman, were married January 30, 1981 in Big Pool, MD.

Mr. Kauffman was employed as a tool maker at Mack Truck, Hagerstown, MD for 39 years. He retired in 2000.

He was a member of The Owl’s Club, Waynesboro.

Mr. Kauffman enjoyed sports, playing on the adult baseball team in Quincy and refereeing basketball. He was also a long-time little league, pony league and colt league coach in the Waynesboro area. Mr. Kauffman and his wife have volunteered for the Department of Aging in Franklin County delivering meals for over 15 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Jerry D. Kauffman of Waynesboro and Candi S. Smith and her husband, Tom Houpt of Waynesboro; a step-son, John T. Wagner of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Ian Wagner, Bleu Lane, Brittany Parrill, Jared Smith, and Bryan Robinson; four great-grandchildren, Miriam, Rhiannon, Abigail and Ronan; one brother, Clyde Kauffman of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty McCleaf; and two brothers, Ralph J. Kauffman and Gary Kauffman.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 3, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday evening, in the funeral home.
