Jessica Francine Nye, 52, of Cascade, MD, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025 in her home.
Born August 31, 1972 in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gene R. Nye, Sr. and Elizabeth V. Roadcap.
Jessica leaves behind: her devoted companion of 35 years, Thomas J. Matter of Cascade, MD; siblings, Tina Nye and Bob of Harrisburg, PA, Gene Nye, Jr. and Patti, Cindy Miller, Jennifer Nye and Ryan and Penny M. Nye and Al, all of Halifax, PA. Nieces and nephews each have many stories of their times together at High Rock, camping, holidays and scavenger hunting. Treasured lifelong friends, Cheri, Mike, Rochelle, Diana and many others too numerous to mention. Furry kids Max and Chaos.
In addition to her mother and father, Jessica was also preceded in death by one sister, Darla K. Nye; cherished friend, Karen Kahler; and an extended family including grandparents, great-grandparents and loving in-laws.
Jessica was a graduate of Halifax High School with the Class of 1990. She worked in customer service positions and always made new friends everywhere.
Her spirit will live on through Tommy, her sisters and brother, family and all her friends who are part of her family. Whenever you see a little bird fluttering about, dogs, cats, frogs, snails, beautiful vegetable gardens or a festive decorated Halloween pumpkin know that she is thinking of some mischievous fun or an adventure to take you on!!
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA.
