Mrs. Joanne (Bingaman) Wilhide, 87, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Thursday morning, November 14, 2024, in her home.
Born February 9, 1937 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Denton and Mabel (Creager) Bingman.
Mrs. Wilhide was a graduate of Waynesboro Senior High School.
She and her husband of over 68 years, Carroll E. Wilhide, were married on August 31, 1956 in the Church of the Brethren in Hagerstown, MD.
Mrs. Wilhide was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, State Line, PA.
She was known for her hospitality and putting others first. She enjoyed bowling, volleyball, playing games, camping, spending winters in Florida for 19 years with her husband, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Robin Crouse (Larry) of McConnellsburg, PA, Karen Bercaw (Walter) of Rouzerville, PA, Susan Wilhide (Daryl Michael) of Waynesboro and Ty Wilhide (Sandy) of Boonsboro, MD; six grandchildren, Molly, Ian, Jennifer, Nick, Aubrey and Brooke; six great-grandchildren, Ailah, Trenton, Kaylee, Phoenix, Myra and Ryden; one sister, Dorothy Clare of Greencastle; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 22, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Irene Pouliot officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
