Mrs. Joanne L. (Sharrah) Cauffman, 80, of Waynesboro, PA passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Chambersburg, PA.
Born March 20, 1945 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Loraine R. (Hartman) Sharrah. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
She and her husband, the late Roderick Lee “Rod” Cauffman, were married on August 11, 1962. Mr. Cauffman died on October 27, 2024.
In her early life, Joanne worked at Yvonne Kay in Waynesboro. She later worked at The Card Outlet in the Outlet Barn, Waynesboro and Henicle’s Market, Waynesboro.
She was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, Waynesboro and the Waynesboro Ambulance Squad.
Joanne was an avid bingo player, who enjoyed watching cooking shows. She also enjoyed gambling, playing bowls and going to casinos.
She is survived by four children, Travis E. Cauffman (Deb) of Waynesboro, Troy L. Cauffman (Karin) of NC, Trina K. May (Eric) of Chambersburg and Trudi J. Crum (Scott) of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Jesse Cauffman (Elizabeth), Barbra Cauffman (Joey Kelley), Dani Cauffman, Megan Cauffman (David Hatfield), John Kelley (Tracy), Leasa Kelley (Kayla), Scott Crum, Jr. (Sam) and Kimberly Horan (Brian); six step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanne Tracey of Rouzerville, PA and Judith Hoover of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Nicole (Cauffman) Scheffer; and two sisters, Jane Beeler and Joyce Detrow.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday evening, May 30, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Religious services and burial will be private.
