Mr. John J. Hosie, 85, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Thursday morning, May 22, 2025, at Hearthstone Retirement Home, Waynesboro.
Born January 16, 1940 in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late James H. and Catherine (Duffy) Hosie.
John was a graduate of St. Helena High School, Bronx, NY and later graduated from Fordham University with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy.
John worked as the Pharmacist at CVS Pharmacy, Waynesboro, for over 20 years.
He attended services at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro and enjoyed dancing, music, and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by two children, Reginia Hosie of Frederick, MD and Andrea Hosie of Middletown, MD; one step-daughter, Jackie Pierterse of Middletown, MD; one brother, Gilbert H. Hosie of Bonita Springs, FL; one sister, Barbara H. O’Daly of Port Charlotte, FL; his long-time friend, Maggie Abangwu-Akamelu of Waynesboro; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Daniel Hosie and Valerie Hosie.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 30, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Christopher Onyeneke, MSSCC officiating. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service, Friday morning, in the funeral home.
