Mr. John Jacob Lindsay, 78, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Thursday morning, January 15, 2026, in Chambersburg Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
Born June 20, 1947, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Charles B. and Verma B (Musselman) Lindsay.
Mr. Lindsay graduated from Greencastle High School with the class of 1965.
He was employed as a truck driver for Turner Transportation in Hagerstown, MD, and also St. Thomas Towing, St. Thomas, PA for many years. Apart from driving truck, Mr. Lindsay was a self-employed farmer for the majority of his life.
He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, State Line, PA, Draft Horse & Mule Association, and was a member of the Silver Star Valley Saddle Club. A hard-working man by nature, he enjoyed working on the farm, raising draft horses, and showing horses at the PA farm show for over 60+ years.
He is survived by his two children, Laura Truett and her husband Larry of St. Thomas, and Rhonda Carbaugh and her husband Ed of Greencastle; five grandchildren, Wyatt Carbaugh and his wife Faith, Jacob Carbaugh and his wife Danielle, Lindsay Savage and her husband Kyle, Nathaniel Truett, and Alec Truett; five great-grandchildren, Ashton Carbaugh, Cullen Carbaugh, Hattie Jo Savage, Kayson Savage, and Charlee Carbaugh; two sisters, Bernice N. Spain of Waynesboro, and Jannette V. Lindsay of Quincy, PA; as well as an extended host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 22, 2026, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle.
Burial in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, will be private and at the convenience of the family.
