Mrs. Judith Lee “Judy” (Smith) Horst, 82, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025 on the 31st anniversary of her husband’s passing at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD.
Born August 9, 1942 in Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Rebecca (Misner) Smith.
Judy was a graduate of Smithsburg High School with the Class of 1960.
A homemaker, Judy was a member of Wolfesville Lutheran Church and Smithsburg Historical Society.
She enjoyed shopping and shared a special bond with the late niece, Krista Minnick.
Judy is survived by one sister, Linda K. Minnick of Smithsburg; brother-in-law, David Horst and his wife, Joyce of Smithsburg; niece, Jennifer DeLawrence; nephew, Stephen Horst; and a host of extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Horst who passed away June 23, 1994; and niece, Krista Minnick.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 30, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA. Burial will follow in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
