Lois Ann Thompson, 96, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at Menno Haven in Chambersburg, PA.

Born June 16, 1929, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Welty Good and Carrie (Deardorff) Good of Quincy, PA.

Upon graduation from Waynesboro High School in 1947, Lois attended Southern Seminary Junior College in Buena Vista, VA where she graduated with a major in voice. She studied at Wilson College for a time and later was a student at The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, a private music conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland.

Lois married Charles Winslow (Win) Thompson Jr. in 1952 and, after briefly living in Indianapolis, IN, they settled back in Waynesboro to raise their two children, Wally and Laura.

Lois engaged in the fine arts throughout her life, often sharing her vocal talent as a soloist for concerts and programs in the local area. She was also an accomplished watercolor artist and attended classes and workshops whenever possible. Lois enjoyed photography and sightseeing which brought her to a variety of destinations in the U.S., Europe, and South America. When not traveling or spending time with her family, she enjoyed vacationing at her homes in Ocean City, MD, and later Fenwick Island, DE.

She is survived by her son, Louis W. (Wally) Thompson and wife Jill of Waynesboro; her brother, Dennis W. Good, Jr. of Charlottesville, VA; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Win (1992), and her daughter, Laura Thompson Wetherald (2021).
