Mr. Mark Allen Straley, Sr., 49, of Greencastle, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at his home.

Born July 2, 1975, in Chambersburg, PA, he is the son of Robert and Kay (Reese) Straley, and the beloved husband of April (Sheaffer) Straley, whom he wed August 21, 2021, in McConnellsburg, PA.

Mark was employed as the Service Manager at Atlantic Tractor, Greencastle, where he worked for the past four years.

A beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; Mark was a man with a good work ethic and a heart for service, exemplified by his years of service to the fire company. He was a member of the Maugansville Fire Company, the Saint Thomas Fire House, where he was Fire Chief for about 3 years, MMPW Fire Company, Marion Fire House and was an EMT at Mont Alto EMS.

He enjoyed tractor pulls, football and spending time with his family. He was a guy that didn’t take life too seriously. He knew how to have fun and had a great sense of humor. He was always ready to brighten your day! A very kindhearted, goofy, brave man who loved being a Pappy and adored his granddaughters! He and his wife shared a passion for mechanical work, and he was more than happy to take directions from her, always putting her first. Mark’s loving spirit and humorous antics will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, April and his parents, Robert and Kay Straley, he is survived by six children: Kelsey Straley, Mercersburg, Mark Straley, Jr., (Lexi) of Chambersburg, Kayla Straley, Mercersburg, Gavrie Kramer, Dagsboro, DE, Nathaniel Kramer, Greencastle, and Christopher Kramer, Jr. (Ashley); two granddaughters: Calliana and Maliyah; three siblings: Dwayne (Linda) Straley, Shippensburg, PA, Jeff (Sonia) Straley, Ephrata, PA and Lori (George) Sweltzer, Greencastle and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary Ellen and David K. Reese.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. Greencastle, with Pastor Stephanie Thompson officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
