Marlene D. Washburn of Chambersburg, PA, passed on Friday, May 16, 2025, at UPMC Carlisle Hospital. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late James R. and Jule M. Gorman. Her husband James C. (Jerry) Washburn proceeded her in death while on active duty with the U.S. Navy Seabees. Jerry was stationed at the Navy Seabee Base in Oxnard, California, deployed to Gitmo, Sasebo, Japan, and the Naval Air Station, Adak, Alaska. Marlene worked for the Federal Government starting her career at Point Mugu Naval Air Station in California, the Naval Civil Engineering Lab in Oxnard, California and Adak, Alaska. Marlene retired in 2006 from Letterkenny Army Depot. Mrs. Washburn is survived by her daughter, Shauna, and two grandsons, Rahmil and Kian, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her brother, James Gorman of Chambersburg, PA, and sister, Kathleen Paradie of Connecticut proceeded her in death. Arrangements are made by Sellers Funeral Home. There will be a private viewing for the immediate family. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 12 p.m..
