Mrs. Maritine A. (Eberly) Potter, 88, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, in her home.
Born May 3, 1936 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Leota (Potter) Eberly.
She was a 1954 graduate of Washington Township High School. She later earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
Mrs. Potter worked as a registered nurse throughout her life. For over 25 years she worked at the Potomac Center of Maryland, serving in the children’s cottage. She was recognized for her work as the Nurse of the Year for the State of Maryland in 1986.
She was a member of the Rouzerville Christian Church, Eastern Star, the Red Hat Society and her sorority from 1958.
Mrs. Potter enjoyed traveling, reading and missions work.
She is survived by two children, Matthew Royer and Lynne Sheedy and her husband, Daniel; five grandchildren, Shane Royer, Payton Royer and his wife, Oyla, Erin Royer-Smith and her husband, Brandon, Montana Brunetto and her husband, Joe and Cheyenne Pearson and her husband, Doug; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander “A.J.” Diamonditis and Rosemary Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald O. Royer, Jr.; her second husband, John Potter; and her son, Stephen Royer.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in the Rouzerville Christian Church, 11977 Old Route 16, Waynesboro with Pastor Laura Bulger officiating. Burial will follow in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Tuesday morning, in the church.
