Ms. Meredith Leigh DeDona, 44, of Alexandria, VA and formerly of Waynesboro, PA passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, December 8, 2025, in her parent’s home in Waynesboro. Her death was due to natural causes.

Born August 14, 1981 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Daniel B. and Ann M. (Mather) DeDona of Waynesboro.

Meredith graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1999 and American University with her Bachelor’s Degree in 2003. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Public Health from George Washington University.

She was currently a Sr. Workforce Development Specialist for the Department of Labor and had previously worked at Booz Allen Hamilton.

Meredith was an active volunteer at the Alexandria Homeless Shelter and was active in her condo’s home owner’s association, which is known as The Venue. She traveled extensively and could communicate well in English, German and Italian. She was a fan of Washington Capitals hockey and enjoyed fostering animals. She especially loved her beagles.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Michael J. DeDona and his wife, Whitney of Darlington, MD; her nephew, Lee; and her niece, Lexi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 16, 2025 in St. Rita Catholic Church, 13219 Monterey Lane, Blue Ridge Summit, PA with Reverend Marsianus Leu, MSSCC officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, PA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday evening, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA.
