Nancy Sue (Eakin) Glenn, 80, of Mont Alto, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home.

Born April 17, 1945, in Spokane, WA, to the late Lawrence Frederick and Catherine Jean (Funkhouser) Eakin, Nancy was a vibrant soul with a heart of gold and a laugh that could light up any room.

A proud University of Idaho and Chapman College alum, Nancy earned her master’s degree in teaching, fueling her lifelong passion for education and empowering others. She married her sweetheart, Lawrence M. “Larry” Glenn, on September 8, 1968, and they shared 49 years of love, laughter, and adventures until his passing in 2017.

Nancy was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, where she served as an Ordained Elder, Clerk of Session, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School organizer, Spiritual Life Council member, and Pastoral Nominating Committee member. Her sassy, spunky spirit shone through in her lifelong dedication to P.E.O., a sisterhood celebrating women uplifting women. She was a member for more than 60 years, since her youth. Nancy helped organize chapters in Stroudsburg, PA and Chambersburg, PA. She also served on the Pennsylvania State Board from 2000-2007 and served as State President from 2006-2007.

A true “Mother to all,” Nancy poured her heart into kids—her own, her grandkids, her great-grandkids, and every child she met. She was active in the schools’ Parent-Teacher Organizations, Cub Scouts and Webelos as a den leader, and providing art-in-schools education. Her love for learning was contagious; she tutored and mentored countless souls, never taking life too seriously and always finding humor in the everyday.

Nancy leaves behind her sons, Michael Glenn (Kristin) of Mont Alto, PA, and Andrew Glenn (Samantha) of Chesapeake, VA; eight grandchildren who were her absolute pride and joy; seven great-grandchildren who kept her young at heart; sisters Janet Anthony of Puyallup, WA, and Anne Eakin of Portland, OR; and a number of nieces and a nephew who adored her.

A memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s vibrant life will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, 105 E. Main St., Waynesboro, at a date to be announced.
