Pamela Jean (Tucker) Harne Lute, aged 75, of Greencastle, PA, was gently called home to her Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2025, surrounded by love at her home.

Born on September 30, 1949, in Hagerstown, MD, Pam was the cherished daughter of the late Dorothy L. (Fiery) Tucker Horchner and Ray K. Horchner. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith, and service, woven with warmth and compassion that touched countless hearts.

Pam graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1968, brimming with dreams and determination. Her passion for beauty led her to the West Virginia College of Beauty Culture in Martinsburg, WV, where she graduated in 1969. With her skilled hands, she brought confidence and joy to many as a stylist, first at Gino Morena Enterprise’s salon at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, known for the “King of the Buzz Cut.” After returning to the area, she styled at Holiday Hair Fashion in Hagerstown from 1987 to 1988 before opening her own salon, Slender Reflections, in Greencastle, PA, from 1988 to 1991. Pam’s entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly, and her salon became a haven of care and connection. Later, she transitioned to customer service roles at Citicorp from 1991 to 1996 and Reliable Home Furnishings in 2004, where her warmth left lasting impressions.

On July 18, 1987, Pam married the love of her life, Gerald E. “Gerry” Lute, in Hagerstown, MD. Together, they built a loving home in Greencastle, raising their blended family of four children: Gerry’s children, Amy and Rob, and Pam’s sons, Randy and Billy. Pam’s heart was fullest as a mother, pouring boundless love into her family. Though she faced profound sorrow with the loss of her son William Ray “Billy” Harne on December 28, 2003, followed by her son Randy Thomas Harne on November 22, 2015, and stepson Robert F. Lute on May 21, 2017, Pam’s faith in God remained her anchor. She and Gerry found solace in hosting and attending Bible study groups, sharing their unwavering faith with others.

Pam and Gerry’s shared dream led them to become owners and innkeepers of White Hall Manor Bed and Breakfast in Greencastle from 2006 to 2017. Their hospitality created a warm haven for guests, many of whom became dear friends. Pam’s legendary lemon stuffed pancakes earned glowing reviews and became a hallmark of the love she poured into every detail. Her nurturing spirit extended to her work at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home in Greencastle, where she served as a secretary every Wednesday from 2001 until her retirement in 2022. Having known deep personal loss, Pam approached each family with profound empathy, treating them as her own. Alongside Gerry, she established the funeral home’s first Christmas Memorial Service, a tradition that continues to comfort the community.

Pam’s greatest joy in her later years was her time with her grandchildren, her great-grandson and step-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Gerry; her grandson, Randy T. Harne, II, and his wife, Paige, of Mercersburg, PA and their son, Henry T. Harne; her granddaughter, Lydia J. Harne of Greencastle, PA; her stepdaughter, Amy Durning of Greencastle, PA; her step-granddaughter, Lauren Durning of Greencastle, PA; her sister, Cynthia L. Tucker of Hagerstown, MD; her brother, Thomas C. Tucker, and his wife, Kathy, of Chambersburg, PA; her stepbrother, Ray Horchner, and his wife, Colleen, of Omaha, NE; her half-brothers, David and Paul Tucker of Dillsburg, PA; her nephews, Scott Tucker, Brett Tucker, and Michael Mumma; her niece, Shawn Mumma of Hagerstown, MD; and her cherished extended family, Garrett Witmer, his wife, Rosa, and their children, Brishley and Emden of Malta, MT, whom Pam loved as her own. Her heart, vast and generous, embraced many other family members and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.

Pam’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and faith. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her kindness, her laughter, and her boundless heart.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 11, 2025, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. Greencastle, PA, with Rev. David Rawley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
