Mrs. Purificacion (Ramoso) Garcia, 92, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025, in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born August 25, 1932, in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Wenceslao Ramoso and Irene (Baylon) Ramoso.
Mrs. Garcia graduated with her M.D. from Manila Central University.
She and her husband, the late Dr. Domingo A. Garcia, were married on December 30, 1959. Dr. Garcia passed away on April 5, 2021.
In her early life, Mrs. Garcia was a doctor of pathology in the Philippines. However, after moving to the United States, she was a homemaker, wife, and mother.
She was a faithful member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro, going to Mass daily for many years, and was a member of the Legion of Mary.
She is survived by three children and their spouses and families, Margaret Garcia Abrams and Keith Abrams, Virginia Garcia Richardson and Bruce Richardson, and James Joseph Garcia and Barbara Garcia; and grandchildren, Lauren Abrams and spouse Kyle Andrews, Isabelle Abrams and spouse Keegan McCaffrey, Paul Abrams, Mark Richardson and spouse Amanda Richardson, and Sterling (S.J.) Garcia; and one brother, Roberto Ramoso.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bernardo Ramoso.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, February 15, 2025, in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro with Rev. Augusty Valomchalil, MSSCC officiating. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends following the service.
