Mr. Richard Blubaugh Sheffler, 93, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in his home.
Born September 24, 1932 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph N. Sheffler, Sr. and Flo B. (Blubaugh) Sheffler. He grew up in the Tomstown, PA area.
He was the valedictorian of Quincy High School, Class of 1950.
Mr. Sheffler served with the United States Army during the Korean War.
He and his wife, the late Mary Ann (Jones) Sheffler, were married December 26, 1954. They were together for 65 years when she passed away February 10, 2020.
Mr. Sheffler worked as a plasterer in Washington D.C. area, working on many prominent buildings. He retired in 1994. Following his retirement, he worked alongside his wife in their antique flea market business.
He was a 30-year member of the Operative Plasters and Cement Masons Union and enjoyed attending auctions and antique sales.
Mr. Sheffler is survived by three sons, Terry Jay Sheffler of Waynesboro, Thomas Lee Sheffler of Hagerstown, MD and Richard Alan Sheffler of Waynesboro; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Judith White of Waynesboro; one brother, Marvin Sheffler of Oliver Springs, TN; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Wooden; and one brother, Joseph Sheffler, Jr.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Brent Mangus officiating. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Tuesday morning, in the funeral home.
