Mr. Ronald L. Ritchey, 90, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 23, 1934, in Mineral Point, PA, he was the son of the late Merle and Dorothy (Griffith) Ritchey.
He was a graduate of Forbes High School, Somerset County, PA with the Class of 1953. Ron then went on to serve with the United States Army from March 18, 1957 until his honorable discharge March 17, 1963. Ron worked for different construction companies in the beginning of his career. He was then employed as an electronics technician at Letterkenny Army Depot until his retirement in 1988.
Ron was a faithful member of New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg. He enjoyed camping, bowling, hunting, and out-fishing his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Wally Deanna (Reighard) Ritchey who he married November 22, 1958; three sons, Ryan Ritchey of Chambersburg, Randy Ritchey and his wife Vicki of Greencastle, PA, and Roger Ritchey and his wife Pauline of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren, Jessica Bard and her husband Dwight, Amanda Baird and her husband Matthew, Samantha Wells and her husband Michael, Heather Ritchey and her husband Andrew Lux, Adam Ritchey and his wife Stephanie, Shannon Ritchey, and Nolan Ritchey; nine great-grandchildren, two siblings Duane Ritchey of Marion, PA and Delores Hagerich and her husband Clair of Johnstown, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by twin great-grandsons, Emmett and Avery Bard.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 12, 2025 in New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church, 1575 Mont Alto Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Lawton Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in New Guilford Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday evening in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 as well as one hour prior to the service Saturday morning in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church at the above address.
