Mrs. Sandra M. (McClain) Hardman, 90, a resident of Menno Haven Retirement Community, Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Waynesboro, PA passed away Friday morning, April 4, 2025, in the nursing home.

Born September 20, 1934 in Blue Ridge Summit, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Martha (White) McClain.

Mrs. Hardman was a graduate of Washington Township High School and later graduated from York Nursing College.

She and her husband, the late Richard W. “Ray” Hardman, were married on February 2, 1955 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Hardman died on February 21, 2011.

Mrs. Hardman worked as a nurse for over 35 years. She worked at the Waynesboro Hospital, Victor Cullen and in various private practices in the local area.

She was an active member of Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church and she enjoyed walking, chocolate ice cream and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, S. Dawn Hardman of Virginia Beach, VA, Leslie H. Lininger and her husband Richard Lininger, Jr. of Waynesboro, and Michael J. Hardman and his wife Theresa of Gettysburg, PA; six grandchildren, Trevor Coplea and his wife Kristen, Mark Lininger and his wife April, Jillian Lininger, Jenna Lininger, Matthew Hardman, and Kathryn Hardman; five great granddaughters; two sisters, Sally Freshman of Waynesboro and Martha Mueller of Sabillasville, MD; and several nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rich Burns; and one sister, Shirley Myers.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 10, 2025 in The Chapel at Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, 9244 Five Forks Road, Waynesboro with Pastor Ray Kipe officiating. Burial will be private in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade, MD.

The family will receive friends at a reception following the service, Thursday morning, in the church.
