Mrs. Shawna C. (Woolridge) Mong, 70, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Monday evening, December 9, 2024, in her home.
Born February 5, 1954 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Clyde H. Woolridge, Jr. and Betty P. (Lohr) Woolridge. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
Shawna graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1972.
She and her husband over 51 years, Richard O. Mong, were married on August 18, 1973 in Waynesboro.
Shawna owned and operated a ceramic and craft store for over 40 years. In conjunction with her retirement in 2014, she became a Board Certified Christian Life Coach with a purpose to validate, encourage and inspire others to dream, discover and live an authentic, abundant life. She obtained multiple certifications in homeopathic health and wellness.
Shawna enjoyed studying her Bible, crafts, painting, gardening, spending quiet time outside on warm sunny days and engaging with friends and family in conversation where she mastered the art of not only listening but hearing the hearts of many.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Joleena Shockey and her husband, Rick, Travis Mong and his wife, Heather and Troy Mong and his wife, Carrie, all of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren, Malia Scheeler, Brock Shockey, Brett Shockey, Alli Shockey, Titus Mong, Emma Mong and Cody Bakner; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Sanders and Marlee Shockey; one sister, Deb Moore of Camden, DE; two sisters-in-law, Richie Carbaugh of Smithsburg, MD and Pamela Mentzer of Fayetteville, PA; one brother-in-law, Jay Carbaugh of Smithsburg, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 P.M., Sunday, December 15, 2024 in Waynesboro Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1 State Hill Road, Waynesboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or cash donations may be brought to the service on the 15th to purchase gift cards for the staff of Chambersburg Skilled Nursing and Rehab to thank them for the wonderful care Shawna received.
