Mrs. Shelva J. (Lesher) Barton, 84, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 in Quincy Village Nursing Home.
Born July 26, 1940 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Alice Mae (Myers) Lesher.
Mrs. Barton was a graduate of Waynesboro Senior High School with the Class of 1958.
She and her husband, the late C. Gary Barton, were married on May 26, 1990. They were together for 34 years when he passed away January 23, 2025.
Mrs. Barton was a longtime employee of Frick Co. and First National Bank of Waynesboro. She later worked for Attorney Lloyd Reichard and served as the secretary at Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church, Blue Ridge Summit.
She was a member of Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She is survived by two sons, Timothy W. Crider (Barb) of Rouzerville, PA and Gregory W. Crider (Susie) of Gettysburg, PA; two step-children, John L. Barton (Amy) of Valrico, FL and Audra L. Lucas (Jay) of Chambersburg, PA; three grandchildren, Shawn Howe, Nicole Koons and Zach Crider; three great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Shade, Kenna Shade and Brycelynn Koons; step-grandsons, Tyler Bock and Aaron Bock; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Barton was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Bakner and Joyce Zullinger.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 3, 2025 in Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church, 14753 Charmain Road, Blue Ridge Summit, PA, with Pastor Carl Batzel officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday evening, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
