Vaso Milanovic, 82, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on the morning of Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Waynesboro Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 25, 1942, in Visoko, Bosnia, he was the son of the late Ostoja and Sofija (Milic) Milanovic.

Vaso married Nevenka (Knezevic) Milanovic in Visoko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and they shared a loving and devoted marriage until her untimely passing on April 25, 1994.

A hardworking and kind-hearted man, Vaso was known for his gentle nature and deep devotion to his family. He worked as a bus driver for the Thermal Power Plant in Visoko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, before moving to the United States in 1997. After immigrating, he worked for Blue Ridge Mountain Cookery (BRMC) in Quincy, PA, where he continued to provide for his loved ones with the same dedication and work ethic that defined his life.

He was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in Chambersburg, PA.

Vaso is survived by his two children, his son, Mladen Milanovic and his wife, Vasilija, of Greencastle and his daughter, Mladenka Morton, and her husband, Steve, of Greencastle. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Branislav, Stefan, Branka, and Maya, and a loving great-grandfather to Vuk, Jaden, Daniella, and Nicole.

He is also survived by three brothers: Novica, Jovo, and Bogdan, his sister, Zora Krstovic, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Dobro and Rajko.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 20, 2025, at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, 2063 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA, with Fr. David Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. After the service, a reception will be held at the church.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Thursday morning, in the church.
