Vicki Anne Edwards, 66, of Longmont, CO, formerly of Waynesboro, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 19, 1958, in Fairfield, CA and raised in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of Shirley (Willhide) Carty and the late Donald Carty.
Vicki was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School, Class of 1976. She later pursued additional education at Penn State University – Mont Alto. She loved marching and instrumental music, playing clarinet in her high school marching band and participating in several majorette and drum corps in her youth and as an adult with her daughter. She loved cheering on her children and grandchildren in their musical, artistic, and athletic endeavors.
She dedicated her career as a Lab Technician, working for Lancaster Labs, Express Analytical, and Waynesboro Water Treatment Plant, before retiring in 2006.
In 2006, Vicki married the love of her life, James Roy Edwards, in Gettysburg, PA, and later moved to Longmont, CO, to begin their new chapter together. They had many adventures together, hiking, taking trips, and RV-ing to various national parks, where she enjoyed taking 1000s of pictures to remember the unique beauty of nature.
Vicki had a passion for gardening and nurtured hundreds of plants and a large koi pond each year. She also enjoyed cooking, birdwatching, and spending time with her family and beloved cats. Although far from home, she made sure to visit for celebrations, making elaborate birthday cakes for her grandchildren, and sent Grandma Vicki boxes for every holiday imaginable. She particularly loved Christmas. She contributed to the Bee’s Needs study for CU, showcasing her love for nature, science, and the environment. But perhaps her proudest accomplishment of her life, was raising her daughter, Heather.
She is survived by her husband, James Roy Edwards; her children, Heather Forberger (Brian), stepchildren James Edwards Jr. (Shannon) and Michelle Leisy; her grandchildren, Wren, Evan, and Abram Forberger, as well as step-grandchildren Saskia and Jordan Leisy and Harrison Edwards. She also leaves behind her mother, Shirley Carty; her niece, Jenna Carty; and nephew, Ryan Carty (Madison). She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Carty and brother, Jeffery Carty (Laurie).

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 13th in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro, with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Antietam Cemetery, (Price’s) near Waynesboro. Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
