Mrs. Wanda L. (Tharp) Newlin, 86, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Monday morning, January 5, 2026, at Mercy House, Chambersburg, PA.
Born October 28, 1939 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Mabel Grace (Tharp) Welty.
Mrs. Newlin graduated from Quincy High School with the Class of 1957.
She and her husband of over 68 years, Enoch L. Newlin, were married on October 4, 1957.
In her early life, Mrs. Newlin worked at the Waynesboro Shoe Factory. She later worked as a secretary at The Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro, Michaux Manor in Fayetteville, PA and Quincy United Methodist Home.
She was a member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro and enjoyed crocheting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Donna J. Rock and her husband, Stanley of Chambersburg, Michael E. Newlin and his wife, Suzanne of Harleysville, PA, and Gregory L. Newlin and his wife, Sherri of Chambersburg, PA; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one son, Bryan K. Newlin; and one brother, Ronald Tharp.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 9, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Drahus Oslik officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
