William K. “Bill” Garling, 76 of Chambersburg, PA, passed in his home on January 3, 2025.

He was born in Waynesboro, PA to the late John “Leiter” and Anna (Saylor) Garling.

Bill was a lifelong truck driver that loved driving truck more than anything. He was also a NASCAR fan that attended several races in Dover. Distinguished characteristics that best describes him would be honest, hardworking, trusting, and sense of humor. Ones that know him would say he would strike up a conversation with anyone, by the time you left the conversation he would be your new best friend.

Surviving are his “wife” Ruby Ocker, 3 children; Rachel Rhoads married to Brad, Wayne Ocker married to Stacy, Shane Garling married to Julia, 7 Grandchildren,12 Great grandchildren and two sisters: Nancy Murray and Judy Garling.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St, Greencastle, PA, with a celebration of life ceremony and a time of sharing beginning at 6:00 P.M.  Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bill’s honor to Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Rd, Waynesboro, or the Marion Volunteer Fire Company, 5456 Molly Pitcher Highway, Chambersburg, PA.
